200 mph remote control car?
A remote control car going 200 mph?? Well not really, but very close to that. Nic Case’s The Red Schumacher Mi3 Remote Control Pocket Rocket is going with the amazing 161 mph!! That’s an amazing result for a RC but the 46 year-old designer Nic Case thinks “This car has more..” He is aiming and the stunning 200 mph.
The creation process took 6 months and about $4000 for all the parts. The car uses 12 V battery pack and an engine of 11 horse power
. The carbon fiber chassis is handcrafted and assures very nice aerodynamic downforce.
The car has no brakes.. and who needs brakes anyway, Case is going for speed and all the unnecessary parts like brakes are off the list. The red pocket rocket dials back the power to the motors to decelerate and to deal with the eventual flipping, a gyroscope-based steering-correction system normally used in remote-control helicopters has been added.
Looking forward to see the next speed record going down.. which is just a matter of time for someone that passionate as the creator of this little red devil.
