After a long promotion programme with many “leached” movies and photos, Dell finally presented the new ultra-slim and very attractive notebook Dell Adamo. The characteristics and price were revealed too.

The first thing you see is the thickness of the luxury aluminum frame – 16,5 mm: this is almost 3 mm thinner than Air. Design is neat and clear – even obligatory labels like “Windows Certified” and so on are under a special magnet panel.

The processor is Intel Core 2 Duo Centrino 1.2 GHz (1.4 GHz available), 2 GB DDR3 800 MHz memory (up to 4 GB), 128 GB SSD, integrated Intel X450 video card. Dell Adamo has standard for the “super-slims” display of 13.4”, practically without frame, with integrated 1.3 megapixel web camera. Connectivity is assured by Bluetooth 2.1, WiFi Draft-N, RJ-45 port, optional “mobile broadband”, 2 USB ports, combined USB/eSATA port and DisplayPort.
Dell promise 5 hours life of the Li-Polymer cell battery.

Designers work is obvious – even the transparent package is with unique design, and when you open the notebook you will find elegant metallic cap keyboard and edge-to-edge display glass, successfully creating a strong luxury impression.

It is something expected since Google developed it mobile OS Android and G1 smartphone. Surprisingly it is Chinese company Skytone, that first created notebook working under Google Android.

The new device is actually some strange combination between notebook, tablet pc and … smartphone! Yes it has processor ARM11 533 MHz used mostly in smartphones (like in iPhone 3G, Nokia 5800, HTC Dream), has full rotation 7” capacitive touchscreen with 800×480 resolution, 128MB DDR2, 1GB SSD for file storage.
